A homeowner shot and killed an apparent would-be robber, according to Kentucky State Police. Four armed people forced their way into the home and took an undisclosed amount of cash, according to state police. Several people, including children, were in the home at the time but no one was injured. During the robbery, according to state police, an altercation occurred between the homeowner and one of the robbery suspects. Kevin J. Helton, 48, of Salt Lick, was shot and killed at the scene, according to police.
